Michael Delaney

Audio and Sound Instructor

 

After his studies in physics and communications, Michael launched his career in sound recording in 1978.  He has worked in numerous recording studios, including Studio Six, Studio Tempo, Son Québec, Studio Morin Heights, Son Soleil and Studio VICTOR in Montreal. He also worked in many studios in the United States and in Europe. Winner of a Felix and multiple Clios prizes with more than 30 gold and platinum records, he has collaborated with many artists including Julos Beaucarne, Cirque du Soleil, Jim Corcoran, Claude Dubois, André Gagnon, Patrick Groulx, Paulin Julien, Daniel Lavoie, Jacques Michel, Patrick Norman, Gilles Vigneault, Roch Voisine and many more. He has also done the music mix on many TV shows and films including J’ai Tué Ma Mère from Xavier Dolan.

Michael has been at Trebas Institute teaching music production, multitrack studio, digital studio and signal processing. He has been on the board of Musée des ondes Emile Berliner since 2007 and is editor-in-chief of the newsletters La Voix de son maître and His Master’s Voice.
