Head Instructor :
Kalman Szegvary is a Toronto-based independent filmmaker, best known as director/producer of Cannibal Rollerbabes, a low-budget horror movie released worldwide in 1997. The film has since generated some buzz amongst cult audiences as well as gaining the attention of notorious radio host, Howard Stern. He has additionally been involved in directing/producing numerous films, TV shows and commercials in North America after working as an assistant director in Europe for Budapest-based Mafilm Studios. He graduated from York University in 1990 with a specialized BFA honours degree in Film/Video Production and currently owns his own production company, Wildfire Motion Picture Co. Kalman has also become very knowledgeable in the world of stereoscopic 3D and has recently assisted his students with the production of one of the first 3D student films. He is excited about how 3D technology is going to open up a whole new world for the storytellers and filmmakers studying at Trebas Institute.
Buck Moore:
With more than 20 years experience in the entertainment industry, Buck has engineered more than 2,500 live shows. Along with his own career as an artist, Buck has worked on numerous film projects, written articles for MIX, OnStage and Canadian Musician Magazines, and been featured in many othetr publications. Buck also writes and directs short films, and has worked on film/video projects for the BBC, CBC, Bravo!, History Television and the Royal Ontario Museum. Buck currently works under his BAM Media company, setting up and mixing live shows, developing instructional videos and writing screenplays.
Steve Benford :
Steve Benford has been involved in the audio community for over fifteen years, primarily focused on honing his skills as a Mastering Engineer. Working as both a freelance engineer and at facilities such as Phase One, has allowed him to build up a large body of work ranging from Depeche Mode and LeAnn Rimes to compilation soundtracks for the CBC and CTV, as well as numerous independent releases.
