Already 31 years since I graduated from Trebas Institute. I was among the first to take the program which was given then in front of the Cinéma Impérial on Bleury Street. The recording studio was Studios Markko and the sessions would start on Saturday. I am still working at the National Film Board as Sound Technician since 1985. I have experienced the evolution from the 16mm to 35 mm and the analogue sound to digital sound, and there is not over yet. Wow, I remember my studies well. One must persevere in life, and do what one wants the most. Internet was not even existing in 1979. But the quality of teaching was fantastic at the time.

My name is David Greer, and I attended Trebas Institute from February 2010 to January 2011. I found that the school was staffed by pro's who "knew their stuff". The curriculum was very thorough with each area of study commencing from a real point of introduction. Teachers are available for those who asked for help. The facilities are top notch, and the courses include some time in real world working studios as well.
 
My previous experience in the field placed me in a unique position of being able to learn finesse when others learned rudiments; but most teachers adapted well to each students level of study. Many of my former profs have referred me for various employment opportunities; and as a result, within a year of graduation I have become a reasonably busy audio contractor working on movie sets, trade shows, in clubs and in the studio.
 
I would gladly recommend Trebas as a premier audio school for anyone with a desire to develop a career in the industry; however, it is not a free ride – you get out what you put in.

"I have been working in this industry since the age of eleven, with my first published songwriting credit. From there I progressed [through] many different roles over the years. By the time I finished high school, I had already opened up for Grammy award-winning artist Rhianna with my hip-hop group N.B.A.  As my experience grew, I wanted to learn more about the business side of the music world so I could start my own record label and management company.
