Recently, two Trebas Institute Ontario students began working as production assistants on a documentary being directed and produced by the visionary filmmaker Janol Ture, known for his documentaries featured on Google Play, Roku and Tubi.

The film celebrates hip-hop’s 51st anniversary and highlights its impact on the music industry and the world at large. It features hip-hop legends like Ice Cube, Flavor Flav, Terminator X and Brother James.

The opportunity arose at Canadian Music Week, where the Trebas Film Department was approached by Gary Taylor, CMW Vice President, who was searching for production assistants for the documentary. Students Aaron Ashitey and Mohammad Ali were selected to be part of this unique filmmaking opportunity.

“These students worked diligently, capturing and unloading the 4K raw footage onto drives and catching unique interview footage and sequences,” said Kalman Szegvary, Academics Manager at Trebas.
