Specific Protocol: Use of equipment

In classes where handling of various equipment (cameras, microphones, wires, etc.) is involved, please plan for designated use for one student per class (rotating weekly if necessary) to avoid swapping equipment between each other.

When equipment exchange is required, it is important to disinfect the equipment using the wipes provided and to clean your hands before and after use.

It is also important to remember not to touch your face during this period. If you do not feel comfortable handling the equipment, please inform your instructor.

Specific Protocol: Multitrack Studio

  1. Before entering the studio, you must disinfect your hands ;
  2. Inside the studio, both students and instructors must wear protective gloves, mask and visor ;
  3. As much as possible maintain a physical distance between people ;
  4. When leaving the studio, go directly to the washroom to wash your hands ;
  5. The studio must be disinfected between each group.

Specific Protocol: Filming

This protocol was developed based on the protocol issued by CNESST and influenced by some industry protocols that were graciously shared with us. The responsibility for its application rests upon the teacher or, when the teacher is not present on the shoot, a student must be designated to ensure the implementation of the specified measures, which he or she will pass on to the teacher.

It is imperative that each person be made aware and apply the basic measures issued by the authorities:

  • Frequent hand washing (with soap, warm water and for at least 20 seconds) ;
  • Frequent hand disinfection using the hydroalcoholic solutions provided ;
  • Physical distance of two (2) meters where possible ;
  • Wearing of the mask and visor when physical distance of two (2) meters is not possible ;
    • Make sure your hands are clean before handling your mask ;
  • Wearing the mask is recommended in enclosed spaces ;

At all times during the preparation or pre-production period, encourage working from home:

  • Encourage meetings and approvals by telephone or videoconference ;
  • Limit the number of people when these meetings must be face-to-face ;
  • Location scouting: Encourage hybrid solutions where essential members meet to conduct the site visit and other members attend virtually ;
  • Casting: favour remote viewing and approvals and limit the number of people present when necessary ;
  • Maintain a physical distance of two meters for face-to-face team meetings ;
  • Allow extra time on the schedule for cleaning and disinfecting equipment and premises ;
  • Shooting documents (script, shooting notes, etc.) should be shared electronically.

  • Establish a schedule of arrival and departure to avoid regrouping at the entrance and limit travel to what is strictly necessary ;
  • Favour reduced film crews ;
  • Assign equipment to reduce the need to share equipment ;
  • Use dedicated spaces for each crew that respects physical distance measures and that allows them to reduce the exchange of equipment ;
  • Limit the number of people on the set ;
  • Wear gloves, masks and visors in the event that the two-meter physical distance is not possible ;
  • Disinfect the spaces used by the actors (CCM, stage, etc.) before their arrival on the set ;
  • Whenever possible, make changes to concepts and scenario to encourage physical distance (framing, sets, editing, etc.) ;
  • The wearing of a mask or visor for the actors is also mandatory when physical distancing is not possible;
  • No gathering scene will be allowed unless the two meters distance between individuals and public health measures are respected ;
  • For make-up needs, make sure that each tool (pencil, powder, etc.) is used for only one person, encourage the possibility that each actor performs his or her own make-up ;
  • Meals: Exceptionally, we ask students to bring their own meals and if meals are required for the actors, make sure that they are individual meals distributed by a person who has disinfected himself/herself and is wearing a mask and gloves.

Adoption

This version of the protocol was adopted by the General Director on June 8 2020.
