Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. offers a range of support services to help students learn, as well as to help them achieve the career of their dreams!

The Student Services Department is an essential part of their overall success. The Internship and Job Advisor helps them prepare for job interviews, recommends effective job search techniques that improve their professional skills.

Our Internship and Job Advisor works with students in groups and one-on-one to create a powerful and relevant CV and helps them make informed career decisions. The knowledge gained at Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. will benefit you for your entire professional life and the mission of the internship and employment advisor is to maximize employment results after graduation and expand your career opportunities.

Advice

Our Internship and Job Advisor provides advice to active and graduate students, including individual career advice, CV and cover letter development, interview techniques and strategies, job search techniques and comprehensive career exploration.

Some programs offered at Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. include one or more study internships. Our Internship and Job Advisor supports students in their internship search process and provides follow-up so that their integration into the labor market is a rewarding experience.

Laboratories and studios

Students who wish to access laboratories and studios free of charge to complete school work should contact the reception and learn about booking policies.

Classrooms

Classrooms are usually dedicated to classes. However, under certain conditions, it may be possible to book one. Please contact the front desk staff to find out the availability and booking arrangements.

Meals

Students of Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. have access to the lounge for meals. This room is equipped with tables, chairs, a microwave oven, lockers and beverage and snack vending machines. The Student Lounge is available at all times, depending on the regular opening hours of Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. Please note that this is not a cafeteria service.

Booking a locker

Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. makes lockers and padlocks available to students. A refundable deposit of $20.00 per person is required to use this service. It should be noted that double occupancy is required for the use of large lockers.  Contact the front desk staff for more information and to book your locker. 

Progress of activities

It is possible that, in certain circumstances, the Student Lounge may be used in various activities such as:

  • A shoot
  • An event organized by students
  • A job fair
  • A conference

If you would like to book the Student Lounge, talk to your program coordinator. The latter will carry out the necessary checks and inform you of the conditions and terms.

 

 

What is it?

If your financial resources are insufficient to allow you to start or continue your studies, be aware that it is possible, under certain conditions, to access financial assistance for studies.

How to proceed?

The request for assistance must be made with the Government of Quebec https://www.quebec.ca/en/education/student-financial-assistance/ which will analyze various factors such as the financial resources available, the student's contribution, school fees and other elements.

Offered 24 hours a day and throughout the year, this free service allows you to contact a nurse when a non-urgent health problem arises. You will be able to get answers to your questions and, if necessary, you will be redirected to a resource in the health network.

Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Drugs: help and referral (DAR) offers support, information and referrals to people affected by drug addiction throughout Quebec. The specialized telephone service is bilingual, free, anonymous and confidential.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of a new student mental health and wellness program with StudyInsured™.


Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. will provide though StudyInsured™ to all its active students and their dependents short-term therapy and counselling to improve mental health. These services will be available to eligible students free of charge.

The mission of the Family Assistance Center is to provide support and assistance to individuals and families in difficulty, in particular victims of violence, and to take steps for the appropriate bodies providing psychosocial follow-up.

The city of Montreal offers easy access to community resources. You can obtain information on the various services offered by dialing 211, between 8 am and 6 pm, 7 days a week. This service, which brings together more than 5,000 community organizations, is offered in more than 200 languages!

This bilingual organization provides free information on social and community resources. The Center quickly directs anyone looking for a response to their needs, including social security, health, work, well-being and leisure, to the appropriate organization.

N.B: Health and hospital insurance coverage is mandatory in Quebec for international students.

 Some countries have an agreement with RAMQ under which their citizens can benefit from RAMQ coverage.

 

Housing

Access to housing in Montreal involves responsibilities and obligations, both for the owner and the tenant: signing the lease, excessive noise, heating a home, renewing the lease, etc. Fortunately, there are some resources out there to help you get the facts straight if you have any questions.

The main mandate of the Regroupement des comités Logement et Associations de locataires du Québec (RCLALQ) is to promote the right to housing and to be a political voice for renting households and in particular those with low incomes. Through the dissemination of information materials, the organization of popular education activities and collective actions, the RCLALQ mobilizes citizens around issues related to housing law from a collective advocacy perspective.

Since its inception, Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. has promoted a healthy workplace and teaching environment. What is the Single Point of Contact?

The Single Point of Contact is a reception, referral and support mechanism set up by Trebas Institute Quebec Inc. to welcome anyone who wishes to transmit information or in need of support in connection with sexual violence.

The Single Point of Contact is under the responsibility of the Internship and Job Advisor. This person is a trained professional who is empowered to support and treat individuals in distress. Everyone in the institute’s community is entitled to the services available if they feel the need.

It is important to stress that the main mandate of the Single Point of Contact is to welcome people with information to pass on and to accompany them in the process and not to conduct an administrative or disciplinary investigation.

Booking filming equipment

Students who wish to book filming equipment as part of a course should first contact the Program Coordinator. The latter will be able to provide detailed instructions on the procedure for booking, recovering the equipment and returning it.

Students of Trebas Institute have free access to the WIFI network. The information related to the connection is available to all at the reception.
