Gregory Breen

Film & TV Instructor

Gregory is an award-winning filmmaker who was born and raised in Dublin Ireland. Greg has an interest in mystery and dramatic storytelling in feature film. His short films and feature film, The Long Night, have screened at festivals in Canada and Europe and are available to view online.

After moving to Canada in 2008 from Ireland, Greg went to study film at Humber College and Toronto Metropolitan University. After film school, Greg began working as an assistant director, script supervisor, camera operator and editor, as well as a writer, producer, and director on his own projects.  In 2018, Greg began teaching directing and video production at Humber College. After catching the teaching bug, Greg studied for a Master of Arts in Media Production at Toronto Metropolitan University.

He currently teaches Film History, Directing and Production Management at the Trebas Institute in Toronto. In addition, he is now also teaching Film Studies at George Brown College.  Greg continues to develop new projects and directed the short horror film P R E Y in 2022. He is currently developing his second feature film, To None But Me…, a comedy-drama set in the gig economy. Greg works to bring an atmosphere of creativity and excitement to his classes.
