Thane Lucas

Instructor for Film editing, Special Effects and Computer Graphics

Thane has been involved in computer graphics since the mid ’80s. In the beginning, the majority of his work was strictly for the design of printed T-Shirts. He started a company with a professional apparel printer doing work for Incredible T-shirt Co., Levi’s and more.

In 1995 Thane started Lucas Digital Art, serving a variety of Toronto clients. He later expanded into Film editing and special effects, and the setup of Computer Graphic workstations and training. His digital photography of Toronto has been published in CAA Magazine, Toronto Tourism, Ontario Tourism, as well as travel magazines in Japan, Italy, Germany, and Australia. In 1998 Thane started teaching computer graphics at The International Academy of Design specializing in Photoshop and Illustrator. That same year Thane started his education in Video editing using Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro, first using his editing techniques in creating web videos then working in the independent film industry as an editor and special effects creator. To this day Thane remains active professionally and as an educator in video editing and special effects as well as computer graphics for print and online, specializing in Apple and Adobe software.
